Not Drowning Waving were a unique ensemble on the Australian musical landscape, fronted by singer-songwriter David Bridie. In 2005 they offered up the multitrack tapes from their 20 year body of work to friends and fellow musicians for reinterpretation. The resulting collection of remixes were released on the cd Maps For Sonic Adventurers and is as much an endorsement of the artists who reworked their music as it is a salute by those artists to Not Drowning Waving.

Secret Masters (Pieter Bourke & Donnie Dub) remixed Blackwater from NDW’s 1990 album Tabaran. ‘We were drawn to the strong political theme and rhythmic energy of Blackwater. We’ve given it a dub makeover, stripped back and epic, while remaining true to the original sentiment.’
